We will take the Fred Olsen Express ferry from Los Cristianos to San Sebastian de La Gomera, which is the capital of the island.
We will get on the coach to visit our first stop: the Hermigua Valley. There we will visit a traditional “gofio” mill where they make this delicious Canarian product, along with other Canarian produce and cultivate fruit trees and tropical plants.
We will continue the journey through La Palmita and enter the National Park to reach the hamlet of Las Rosas in the area of Agulo. There you will have time to have lunch in a typical Gomero restaurant. You will be treated to a unique live demonstration of the famous Silbo Gomero: the only whistled language in the world and which has been declared as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
If time allows, after lunch you will see the Juego de Bolas Visitors Centre also located in Agulo.
From there, we will drive up to The Garajonay National Park , a paradise of laurisilva – which is a ancient subtropical forest – a nature reserve declared a National Heritage Site by UNESCO. There we will make a special stop at La Laguna Grande, where you can explore the place where it is said the ancient witches of the island used to meet.
On the way back, we will stop to admire the imposing Roque de Agando, an impressive and steep formation of volcanic lava. Finally, we will return to San Sebastian, where you can see the remnants of histórical buildings linked to Christopher Columbus passage before his departure to the American Continent ,such as the Torre del Conde or La Casa de Colón.
